I can't believe I am admitting this. But, way back in high school, before Chris Isaak was a celebrity (he was just a local San Francisco celebrity), my friend and I went to TONS of his concerts. We even followed him home one night! Now I sound like a stalker, but it was high school, and it was funny, not creepy, I swear!! :)

Don't get me started on the AT&T SIM Cards! UGH! We had to roll out 125 8700c's and about 40 to 50 had SIM cards issues.
As for the upgrade, it is a higher rev, so I'm assuming there are more bugs worked out. I literally just got done upgrading mine and all I've seen so far is that the AT&T version is a wee bit faster. If I discover anything else, I'll post it.

Do you know if there's any benefit of putting AT&T's code instead of a hacked version?
I believe I have 4.5.0.79 or something around that, I guess it's OK if I apply it.
I was recently checking if one of my problems, the lack of Network selection, was down to my hack, but it seems it's related to ATT SIM Cards.

It seems to me he signed a contract that afforded him a fairly high level of pay for as long as he wanted to keep working at IBM. The cost to him of that non compete clause is part of what he was paid for. Its not a surprise, and its not being applied ex post facto.
I'm sorry, I think you have to live by the contracts you sign. I've turned down jobs and projects when they required overly restrictive contracts. That's the choice you make. For enough money, I'd have taken those offers.
Your thesis here seems to suggest that I should have taken the money and then ignored the contracts.

An Introduction to ISO 27001, ISO 27002....ISO 27008
The ISO 27000 series of standards have been specifically reserved by ISO for information security matters. This of course, aligns with a number of other topics, including ISO 9000 (quality management) and ISO 14000 (environmental management).
As with the above topics, the 27000 series will be populated with a range of individual standards and documents. A number of these are already well known, and indeed, have been published. Others are scheduled for publication, with final numbering and publication details yet to be determined.
The following matrix reflects the current known position for the major operational standards in the series:
ISO 27001
This is the specification for an information security management system (an ISMS) which replaced the old BS7799-2 standard ISO 27002
This is the 27000 series standard number of what was originally the ISO 17799 standard (which itself was formerly known as BS7799-1)..
ISO 27003
This will be the official number of a new standard intended to offer guidance for the implementation of an ISMS (IS Management System) . ISO 27004
This is the designated number for a new standard covering information security system management measurement and metrics..
ISO 27005
This is the methodology independent ISO standard for information security risk management.. ISO 27006
This standard provides guidelines for the accreditation of organizations offering ISMS certification.
The ISO27001 Certification Process
Some of the most common questions pertaining to the 27000 series of standards relate to the certification process for ISO27001. This page is intended to help address some of these.
In a nutshell, the following diagram explains the logical flow of the process itself:
The process starts when the organization makes the decision to embark upon the exercise. Clearly, at this point, it is also important to ensure management commitment and then assign responsibilities for the project itself.
An organizational top level policy can then be developed and published. This can, and will normally, be supported by subordinate policies. The next stage is particularly critical: scoping. This will define which part(s) of the organization will be covered by the ISMS. Typically, it will define the location, assets and technology to be included.
At this stage a risk assessment will be undertaken, to determine the organization's risk exposure/profile, and identify the best route to address this. The document produced will be the basis for the next stage, which will be the management of those risks. A part of this process will be selection of appropriate controls with respect to those outlined in the standard (and ISO27002), with the justification for each decision recorded in a Statement of Applicability (SOA). The controls themselves should then be implemented as appropriate.

I agree with your theoretical story about contacting IBM. The big consulting firms "lose" employees to their customers all the time. It has a small short term impact, but if done right, locks that company into a tighter relationship than before.
People change jobs, and leaving on good terms (by both the employer and employee) is generally the best option.

@1 - MAN I knew you were going to break my chops on something!! LOL
Well, I understand taxes as well as anyone who is not an accountant can. This was not intended to be an opus on tax law nor did I think anyone would expect it to be.
However, I did say that inherited money is not taxed as income and that most of their money is exempt from taxation. Even if they do have a 5 or 10% fee to manage the estate, that still leaves 90 to 95%.
The point being if you don't have to worry about INCOME tax, as Kennedy et al don't, it isn't real to you, you deal with it as an abstraction and, as a result, all that changes how you view income taxes. The reality is most politicians don't understand public funding anyway but that is a whole other subject.
In any event, most federal revenue is derived from income taxes and that is a recurring tax. Death tax is a one time deal, not a recurring tax and only a portion of overall federal revenue. I believe the data book breaks it out if you want to see how that goes.
As usual, I enjoy the interplay! LOL
@2 - Hey Dave, dude, UGH ... the spelling thing?? Really?? Man, this one gets old. It isn't like I had 40 of them. What up with that man? I suppose you have never made a typo? And you seriously think facts can be discredited based one misspelling?
Dude, how sad for you. I'm not the first to have ever made a typo nor the last. For us all, dude, please, next break my chops on something good so we can all have a good laugh on it.
Thanks Man!

Also I think points should be deducted for completely missing the fact that the extra tax only kicks in if you "personally earn" over that amount - AFTER those very business expenses you mention.
BTW it's only on the money over that line that is taxed.
Oh and another HUGE BTW Mr. McCain has put for the EXACT same idea just back in 2000, what on earth do think of this...
"Archived MSNBC videotape from 2000 further demonstrates how McCain’s tone has shifted on taxes and what constitutes socialism since the end of his last presidential race. Answering questions during a Hardball College Tour show in October 2000, McCain defended the progressive tax system when questioned by a town hall participant who warned that the high tax bracket of her father – a doctor – smacked of an inching towards “socialism and stuff.” McCain said that progressive tax systems are based on the fact that “we feel, obviously, that wealthy people can afford more.” He spelled out this response: “Here's what I really believe, that when you are -- reach a certain level of comfort, there's nothing wrong with paying somewhat more.”
